P0420 Camry Field Manual is a small, independent information guide about one problem: the P0420 catalyst efficiency code on the Toyota Camry. It is written and maintained by the P0420 Camry Field Manual Editorial Team. We are not a repair shop, a parts seller or a dealer, and we do not sell anything on this site.

- Where sources disagree, or where we could not find a primary document, we say so instead of guessing.

- Pages are written in our own words. Short attributed phrases are the most we quote.
How we check facts
For each page we read the top search results for the topic, then go to the primary source wherever one exists. Warranty terms are checked against the EPA’s emissions warranty fact sheet and CARB’s warranty table. Converter rules are checked against the CARB, New York, Colorado and Maine agency pages. Bulletins are checked against Toyota bulletin text or the NHTSA listing. Part prices come straight from a Toyota parts catalog. Each page carries its own Sources section and a “last updated” date; this edition was checked in November 2026.
